Caronte
More than a bed, a talisman.
Fragments of trees that traveled across the sea for years, crossed continents, and were shaped by time have come together to give form to a presence.
Caronte was not born from a design.
It emerged.
This artwork was created in Sardinia through an intuitive process that unfolded over several months, as though each element had already chosen its place long before being understood.
The main panels are crafted from precious Wengé wood, personally transported from Guinea Conakry through Senegal, Mauritania, and Morocco.
The supporting structures originate from ancient driftwood trunks found along the beaches of Mauritania, sculpted by the sea, wind, and time. Their botanical origin remains unknown to this day, like fragments of a forgotten memory.
The roots emerging above the structure are made of wild Sardinian olive wood, gathered from forests and coastlines after years spent in silent dialogue with the sea and the elements.
Each base is adorned with natural stones — quartz druzy formations, obsidian, and agate — while a Wengé wooden sword, hidden within one side of the piece, completes its symbolic language.
Caronte is not a bed.
It is a passage.
A symbolic presence suspended between land and sea, matter and spirit — an artwork evoking protection, transformation, and transition.
Throughout its creation, I often felt as though the work was guiding me more than I was guiding it, as if it already possessed its own identity and destiny.
I have always sensed that it was destined for a mature feminine presence — a woman capable of understanding its symbolic language, the memory of the sea, and the silent energy preserved within its wood.
A unique, one-of-a-kind artwork, created through travel, intuition, and deep listening.

Each sculpture emerges from a dialogue between nature, time, and intuition. Driftwood roots and sea-sculpted fragments are carefully transformed into symbolic presences, carrying the memory of wind, salt, and distant shores. Every piece is entirely unique and impossible to reproduce.
